What is RowTru?

RowTru is short for “Row the Truth”. It’s a self-paced training framework built around one simple goal:
Improve your 2,000 meter time.

Row the truth uses the endurance sport of indoor rowing to challenge your body and mind, and help you reach extremely satisfying performance oriented milestones in your personal fitness and life… something like that.

When done right, you will find rowing to be both meditative and brutal – at the same time. It requires you to be fully present, paying attention to your body and breathing, establishing rhythm and having the grit to push through, and having the discipline to hold the proper form and movements.

Rowing requires honesty, and it forces it through data. It tells you exactly who and where you are, and more importantly where you could go.

When you plug in, practice and develop the discipline, it will be one of the most rewarding endurance sports in your life. It’s not flashy or sexy. It’s a deep personal journey through fitness. You aren’t doing it to impress. You are doing it to become a better version of yourself through endurance fitness. something like that.

Just one Key Metric

All you need in this program is to get better at one simple thing – your 2,000 meter time, or 2KT for short. That’s all you need. To improve that metric requires a lot of other things going on – how many meters are you rowing per week? What’s your average split pace? What kind of workouts are you doing? How many days per week? How much high intensity (VO2 max) vs low intensity? Etc…

The 2KT is the right distance – short enough to be doable and less daunting (need better wording), but also long enough to require a strategy and disciplined approach.

And that’s what makes it so rewarding. It rewards the right mindset, form, grit, endurance and consistency. The 2KT makes your efforts so fulfilling and even makes your rowing journey more addictive… something like that.
